Your online presence matters and it’s the first step in building a commercial relationship with customers.  Here’s a few ideas on what you can do to look your absolute best while being photograph. Preparation is key.

Tips & Tricks:

Face – Have a nice relaxed smile that shines from your eyes and look straight into the camera to connect with the view of the photo. Bring makeup to the shoot for touchups. Look approachable and friendly.

Hair – To give you an extra boost of confidence consider booking a hair/makeup appointment before your photography session to look your absolute best. But avoid getting a new haircut or a dramatically different style right before the shoot.

Pose – For a slimmer you face your body slightly away from the camera then turn your head to look into the lens. Lean towards the camera to appear engaging. Employ your best posture for a confident look.

Clothes – Wear work appropriate clothing that you know you look good in. Avoid busy patterns, logos, and distracting jewellery. Avoid tank tops and bring a few clothing options pre-ironed to try out at the shoot.

Search – Look for a photographer that not only has a lot of experience shooting business portraits but also has a style of portraiture you would like for your own portrait.

Talk – Call or meet the photographer in person to discuss what your needs are. What is the end use of the image? How will it play it’s part in the larger aspect of your marketing and branding?

Prepare – Think through the look you would like for your photo and book any hair appointments you need prior to the shoot. Bring a friend or spouse if you are nervous and need a second opinion about things.
