Having stood strong as an imposing edifice since 1893, the Brantford Armoury is prominently located in downtown Brantford near the War Memorial and is a familiar landmark to the region. It was closely associated with the pre-World War I building campaign and the expansion of the volunteer militia. In the piece of work by digital artist Tae Hislop, an old photograph discovered in the archives of the Brant Historical Museum was meticulously stitched together with a more current photography that she captured to show the contrast between the old and new history of the building and it’s surroundings.
